I'm honestly not sure where to even begin, other than to say that last week was one of the best weeks I've had in a LONG time. 

As I'm sure most of you are already aware, Swedish group The Sounds are my FAVESSSSS. Hands-down, all-time favorite band since 2006. One of my really good friends from Upstate NY turned me onto the band. I still remember sitting on his bed, listening to music play on his computer. As "Song With a Mission" came on the playlist, I perked up, and asked "who's this?!" 

I've been following the band ever since. Every show I could go to, I did, starting with Warped Tour in summer 2006. And let me tell you, each time, it just gets better and better. 

I've been fortunate enough to attend several Sounds shows over the last 10 years. Always front and center! In the last three years, since I've been doing band photography, I've taken some pretty amazing shots of Maja and the boys performing, that got me noticed. I'm beyond flattered, honored, and blessed that my work has gotten the attention & praise of Maja and the band. It's sincerely the best feeling in the world. 

Currently, The Sounds are touring the U.S. and Canada to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their album "Dying to Say This to You." Playing the album in its entirety, as well as some other fan favorites, this tour surely did NOT disappoint.

I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to capture their two NYC shows (at Warsaw & Irving Plaza) last week, as well as hang with the band before their set at Irving Plaza. One of the biggest dreams I've ever had – to photograph the group together – finally came true! Still feels surreal to me. 

Needless to say, it was an unbelievable two nights, and The Sounds are still just as amazing as ever. Maja is an absolute sweetheart, and a total badass on stage. (Those kicks! The spitting! The water bottle throwing! The microphone between the legs! #Hot.) And after hearing the newest single "Thrill" performed live, it makes me even more excited for the next EP, coming early next year. 

God, I love this band.
