PHOTO RECAP: LITTLE BOOTS AT BOWERY BALLROOM NYC
Last month I had the opportunity to photograph British pop star Little Boots (Victoria Hesketh) – an artist I've loved since my friend introduced me to her "Meddle" performance years ago. (Haven't seen it? Definitely worth a watch!) Currently on tour promoting her third album Working Girl, Little Boots stopped by Bowery Ballroom in NYC to perform to an energetic crowd full of her biggest NYC fans. My night started with being introduced to Victoria in her green room. Petite, blonde, fashionable, trendy, classy. These are the words that come to mind when I think about my first impression of this mega-talented singer & musician. Not to mention, sweet. We both realized after only a few minutes of speaking to each other, that we actually thought the walls in the green room would make for some awesome photos. As our time before Little Boots' set was limited, she quickly began posing for me – a complete natural in front of the camera. Dressed in a pink pants suit and heels, Little Boots perfectly set the "executive realness" theme for the evening.

As the crowd was waiting for Little Boots' set to begin, I finished taking photos and quickly grabbed my spot in front of the stage. It was an interesting crowd; young & old, sober & not-quite-so-sober... you get the idea. But they all showed up to dance the night away. The set list consisted of tracks off the new Working Girl album, as well as some older fan-favorites including "Get Things Done," "No Pressure," and "New In Town." Never a dull moment, the crowd was dancing and singing along the whole night, from opening song to the encore. And for the encore, one of my personal favorites "Remedy" concluded the evening .... No more poison killing my emotion, I will not be frozen, dancing is my remedy. Ah, so good. I loved the energy Little Boots brought to her performance and am eagerly looking forward to the next time she's performing in the city.
